Govt Degree College Battagram

Government Degree College Battagram, located in the picturesque green valley of Chappargram, District Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stands as a beacon of higher learning and academic excellence. Surrounded by majestic mountains and lying adjacent to the world-renowned Shahra-e-Karakurram (also known as the Silk Route or Shahra-e-Resham), the college offers an inspiring environment for education, reflection, and intellectual growth.

Established in 1999, GDC Battagram has the distinction of being the only public sector institution in the district offering quality education at both Intermediate and Degree levels in the fields of Mathematical, Biological, and Social Sciences. Over the years, the college has produced numerous graduates who have contributed significantly in various academic and professional domains.

In 2009, a modern and aesthetically designed college building was constructed through the generous assistance of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The new infrastructure provides a conducive learning atmosphere, equipped with spacious classrooms, well-furnished laboratories, a rich library, and other essential academic facilities.

The city of Battagram itself is known for its breathtaking landscapes, serene environment, cascading waterfalls, and hilly terrain, offering an ideal setting for both study and personal development.

Currently, Government Degree College Battagram has expanded its academic horizon by launching BS (Four-Year) Programs in multiple disciplines under the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Hazara University, Mansehra. The offered BS programs include:

• Botany

• Chemistry

• Computer Science

• Islamic Studies

• Political Science

These programs are designed to meet contemporary educational standards, integrate modern research trends, and prepare students for both professional careers and higher studies.
