Akbarpura is one of the historical towns of district Nowshera, roughly 13 miles away situated at northeast of the city of Peshawar. By shuffling the pages of history the name Akbarpura is named after the Mughal king Akbar, who camped here before going to Afghanistan. Akbarpura is widely known and esteemed for its Sufi shrines including Akhund Panju Baba who enchanted King Akbar. Land of the area is adjacent to the rivers and is eco-friendly featuring the fecund orchids of plum, peach, pear, wheat, maize, sugar cane, vegetables etc. Similarly, Akbarpura and the nearby suburbs are gifted with dynamic, intellectual and prominent educationists who by their worth and abilities served the country. It was the profound desire of the inhabitants of this region to be graced with a degree college.
Government Degree College Akbarpura is one of the newly established institutions in the proximity. The foundation stone was laid in the year 2012, and the beautiful and charismatic building stood in its full glory in 2013. The year 2015 was labeled as the first educational year. College is located on almost forty six kanal comprises of double storey academic block, administration block, examination hall cum auditorium, canteen, faculty and students’ hostel. College is graced with the presence of modern laboratories and fully enriched library.
The progress begun through this college by the higher Education department will provide the hope to the residents of this area. May this college control the educational destiny of the inhabitants of this Region.
