1. English Literary Society

The English Literary Society of Govt. Girls Postgraduate College No. 1, Abbottabad, proudly serves as a vibrant platform for students to explore and express their creative talents, critical thinking, and command of the English language. The society aims to foster a love for literature, develop public speaking and writing skills, and encourage artistic expression among young women.

Before and throughout the literary week, the society organizes a wide range of exciting and intellectually enriching activities, including

Poster-Making Competition – Where creativity meets language, allowing students to visually represent literary themes and social messages.

Declamation Contest—A stage for confident voices to express strong opinions on contemporary issues through persuasive and powerful speeches.

Drama Competition—Showcasing talent in acting and storytelling, this event brings literature to life through engaging performances.

Creative Writing Competition— Encouraging imagination and originality, this competition invites students to write poetry, short stories, and essays on diverse themes.

These events not only help students enhance their literary skills but also build confidence, teamwork, and leadership.

The English Literary Society functions under the guidance of the Head of the English Department and incharge of the English literary society Miss Farah Naz and is led by a team of passionate student members including the president an and Vice President who lead the society, oversee all events, coordinate with faculty, and ensure smooth functioning of activities and General Secretary who is responsible for keeping records, managing announcements, and maintaining communication among members.

2. Character Building Society

‎Character is a foundation of a strong and progressive society. Therefore, in educational institutions, apart from focusing on knowledge, it's important to focus on the student's character development, and here, character building society plays its vital role. The Character Building Society plays a crucial role in guiding students towards the moral, ethical, and responsible behaviors and helps them to recognize the growing vices like corruption, injustice, and dishonesty and promotes virtues like social responsibility, respect, and empathy.

Over the years many impactful events took place under the umbrella of CBS like Anti-Corruption Seminar which helps students to understand the importance of transparency and honesty and highlights how corruption destroys a nation. Also, on Labour Day, the society highlights the hard work and struggles of laborers who form the backbone of our community. Teachers’ Day is observed to recognize the dedication, efforts, and sacrifices made by our teachers in shaping young minds and many more healthy and impactful activities take place under the umbrella of CBS. Through such activities, the Character Building Society inspires students to become morally aware, socially responsible, and active contributors to a better society.

3. Anti-Drug Society

The aim of an anti-drug society in college is to promote a positive and drug-free environment among students. It seeks to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse, provide support to those struggling with substance use, and foster a sense of community to discourage drug-related activities. Through education, events, and outreach programs, the society aims to empower students to make informed and responsible choices, promoting overall well-being and a healthy campus culture. It also provides awareness on how to ‘Say no to drugs’.

4. Pakistan Culture Society

Pakistan Culture Society Is working since 2016 in this college .Under this society the team members arrange the function of Pakistan Day, Independence Day, Black Day of Kashmir ,Quaid e Azam Day, Kashmir Integrity Day And Youm e Istiqlal etc . Our team arrange and celebrate all these function with zeal and zest.

5. Scientific Society:

Purpose and Role of Scientific Society

To encourage understanding and appreciation of science among students and the wider community.

To provide a space for students to share their findings, discuss new ideas, and collaborate on projects.

To help students develop valuable skills in communication and teamwork.

Role of scientific society

Society organizes science fairs and other events to inspire students and foster their interest in science.
