Department of Economics History
It was established in GGPC No 1 Abbottabad in Fall 2011 & started BS in Economics (a four years programme). In start Department of BS Economics was affiliated with Hazara University but later the department got affiliation with Abbottabad University of Science and Technology in Fall,2017 .Under the guidance and supervision of respected HOD MS Syeda Mobina Qadri, the staff of the department teaches different subjects of Economics in BS Economics as well as in other departments of the college.
The field of Economics has been proved as a core subject in almost every field of education. It plays a vital role in research as it is the science of learning from data. Knowledge of Economics helps you use the proper methods to collect the data, employ the correct analyses, and effectively present the results. Economics facilitates us to make decisions based on data and make predictions. Economics allows you to understand a subject much more deeply. Therefore, Economics has been declared as a core subject for all levels in social and management sciences by HEC. Modern era of science and technology has proved that not only the natural sciences, but the social and administrative sciences have also been developed to the extent that they too, need an input of Economics.
